Road Access from Takayama to Okuhida (Route 158)

Access between Takayama and Okuhida via National Route 158 is OPEN for normal passenger cars.

Due to a landslide in Nyukawa Town, a short section of Route 158 is currently closed.
However, vehicles are being detoured to a Takayama city road on the opposite side of the river, and traffic can pass through the area.

Regular passenger cars and local buses can travel between Takayama and Okuhida without problems.

Please note:

• Tour buses and large vehicles are not permitted.
• Some parts of the detour road are slightly narrow.
• The road is mainly used by local buses, construction vehicles, and passenger cars.

Navigation System Warning

Some car navigation systems may incorrectly show this road as closed and suggest a long detour via Route 41 through Hida City.

Please continue to use Route 158 toward Hirayu Onsen / Okuhida.
